Dumfries & Galloway's Young Women's Network
Is a group for young women aged 14-25 who want to create a platform to empower, raise aspirations, build confidence and resilience and take steps towards making meaningful change across our communities for young women.
The Dumfries and Galloway's Young Women's Network refers to the core group of young volunteers who have led the way locally to speak up on issues impacting young women. They have attended events and organised their own with the the 4 Nations Young Women's Event taking place in Stranraer in March 2024 as part of International's Women's Day!
Dumfries and Galloway have recently launched the Young Women's Strategy which outlines actions based on these key themes:
- Stronger Than Ever: Inspiring Women in Sport, The Arts, Leadership and Careers
- Beyond The Mirror: Exploring Issues around Mental Health & Wellbeing, Relationships, Porn, GBV and Sexualisation
- Women For A Better World: Challenging Media Pressure, Bullying and Stereotyping
- Pride And Power: Involve, Encourage and Empower Young Women from Marginalised Groups
- Empowered Women, Empower Women: Role Models, Women of Influence and Education
